About the event
Yoga teacher and Thai Massage therapist, Eve Cunard, continues to teach her series of therapeutic yoga workshops by focusing on something that seems to be a problem area for so many people.
Eve loves to share her gentle, powerful approach to yoga and to the body, sharing what she has learned from teaching yoga classes and working individually with students for over 20 years.
Sacroiliac joint (SIJ) pain or tension is such a common problem affecting sportspeople as well as yoga practitioners. Sometimes there is a feeling of tension or being 'stuck" on one side of the pelvis, close to the sacrum. Other times this issue can lead to lower back spasms or pain and a feeling of misalignment.
During this workshop, Eve will share yoga and movement techniques to soothe SIJ and resulting lower back issues. Participants will learn self-massage techniques to unlock the tension that can contribute to these problems. We will also focus on simple, subtle stability work to improve the muscular support of the pelvis.
We will discuss the differing methods used in yoga to deal with SIJ problems as well as unpacking the anatomy of this beautiful joint that is crucial in every step we take.
