About the event

Explore a sound experience within the framework of a gentle, healing hatha yoga practice. Music born of yoga, yoga born of breath and movement. Simple to do, yet advanced yoga practices of mudra, bandha and pranayama are effortlessly incorporated. In awareness of Awareness the yogi becomes immersed in a timeless practice that brings balance to our personal world. Activate the BodyMind as a device of Universal Conscious with gentle restorative yoga, sound and mantra meditation.  Mantra illuminates the mind. Yoga moves the body, restoring its energetic flow into balance. Both resonate within the practitioner - a bodymind practice deeply aligned with yoga metaphysics. Chanting or sounding is a simple way to connect with Source, within.

Meet the Facilitator

Johann Kotze taught himself yoga in 1990 from a book. He then attended the 500-hour remedial teacher training throughout the 1990's at Ananda Kutir Sivananda Ashram in Cape Town. He has been teaching yoga classes every week of his life for 33 years. His interest is the whole of hatha yoga, and to facilitate the practice of its magnificent system of philosophy, physicality and spirituality. Integration of the yoga experience into life transformation is a central topic for Johann. He has taught yoga to the widest possible range of students, from beginners to advanced practitioners, old to young, students and children, fit and unfit. He has taught at his own studios, gyms, corportates, retreats, online, home visits, outreach projects, luxury spas and community halls.

Johann's fanatical love for music began in early childhood and he taught himself guitar in the 1980's.

Later, he gravitated in the direction of ambient and meditation music, with approximately 100 releases between 2011 - 202. Healing music and therapeutic yoga became an integral aspect of his work over the last 10 years. During lockdown he began to incorporate mantra with his ambient music style into his yoga practices. Listen to his ambient music, some mantra, and more on all digital services.
