A Journey of Sound to Silence

The immersive sounds of gongs and singing bowls guide us to inner stillness and divinity. Experience an enchanting concert featuring Yin Xiong, a musician and gong master based in South Africa, and Sumayyah Alturaif, her student from Saudi Arabia. Together, they weave a mesmerizing soundscape using an array of musical instruments, including gongs and alchemy singing bowls. This immersive sonic journey promises an unforgettable experience that you simply can't afford to miss.

This is a fundraising event, and all proceeds go to the People of Love organization. Based in Plettenberg Bay, People of Love focuses on community work in the Kranshoek Community. This organization is very close to our hearts, as they operate various projects mainly focused on children's education. About the Performers:  

Yin Xiong is an accomplished international musician with over three decades of experience as a holistic sound artist. Born in Wuhan, China, Yin has a deep love for music and has been singing all her life. She acquired her training in China, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and plays various instruments, specializing in gongs. On her worldwide travels performing and teaching, Yin has collected over 70 magnificent gongs and singing bowls – the largest private collection in Africa. Yin lives in George with her husband, Ismail Rahman, a retired diplomat. As a creative and inspired facilitator, Yin uses her unique knowledge of sound frequencies to create a spectrum of sound that is therapeutic to the entire being. 

Sumayyah Alturaif, hailing from Riyadh, is a student under the guidance of Yin Xiong in Gong and Vocal art. Additionally, she is certified in Meditative Breathing assistance and has been facilitating sound baths since 2018. She is a dedicated student of Yin Xiong.
